Devices offer a space-saving, high-reliability alternative to LFPAKs and other competitive packages

Taiwan Semiconductor, a supplier of discrete power electronics devices, LED drivers, analogue ICs, TVSs and ESD protection devices, has introduced a new family of automotive-grade power MOSFETs to its existing TQM Series.

Available in a PDFN56UD, the new 60V dual n-channel devices support drop-in pin compatibility with other commonly used package types.

The devices’ low-profile (5mm x 6mm) packaging with heat-spreader contacts, high drain current (ID), and industry-leading low RDS(ON) provide excellent thermal management and increased power density.

Additionally, their wettable flank connections are suitable for automated placement, help meet automotive board-mount and AEC-Q qualification testing, and facilitate high-yield manufacturability.

TSC’s 60V dual power PDFN56UD MOSFETs offer designers a high-performance option in a broad range of applications, including H-bridge and half-bridge rectifiers, motor/actuator controls and solenoid drives.

With their dual MOSFET configuration, 60V PDFN56UD devices offer the added benefits of reduced PCB space and lower BOM costs. All are produced to meet AEC-Q standards, and documentation for the production part approval process (PPAP) can be provided.

“The PDFN56UD footprint compatibility of our TQM Series of 60V dual power MOSFETs makes them an easy drop-in alternative source for competitors’ DFN8, LFPAK56 and PowerFLAT packages,” said Sam Wang, vice president, TSC Products. “Their AEC-Q-grade quality is also advantageous in many non-automotive applications where high-reliability is required.”
